Cosmetic Eye Treatment In Northern Michigan

Posted on 01.31.13

Eyelid SurgeryWe understand that how you see as well as how you are seen are both very important to you and for that reason, we offer cosmetic eye treatments in addition to preventative care and vision correction as well.

Called Blepharoplasty, this eyelid surgery can help your eyes look young. Time, weather and just life, can all impact the way you look. As we age, our eyelids, just like many other parts of our face and body begin to droop or sag a bit. Our skin becomes less elastic and just doesn’t look like it used to. Blepharoplasty is the solution for many people who wish that their eyes looked as young as they feel.

Eyelid surgery or an eyelift is performed to remove excess skin around the eye and make you look younger. Although the results can not be guaranteed for any length of time, most people who opt to have Blepharoplasty are pleased with the results for a relatively long time.

Cosmetic Eye Treatment Procedure

The procedure of Blepharoplasty is simply a removal of extra skin around the eyes and lids, lifting the surrounding tissue and creating a younger appearance. Generally, the procedure takes from 1 to 3 hours and you should have very little problems, with swelling and bruising being the most common impact to the face. This swelling and bruising should be gone completely, revealing the final product, within a couple weeks.

Though cosmetic eye treatments may not be right for everyone, it is ultimately your choice. Be sure you talk to your ophthalmologist and decide if it is right for you. As with all elective procedures, you are choosing to have a medical procedure that you may not necessarily require so, be sure to weigh all pros and cons carefully.
